Peer Counselor Training From Skill to Succeed Project in Subang

Skills to Succeed Project for Out School Youth adalah program yang didukung oleh Yayasan Sayangi Tunas Cilik dalam meningkatkan kapasitas dan peluang remaja dan anak muda yang kurang beruntung agar memiliki kondisi hidup yang lebih baik melalui keterampilan kerja, kesempatan kerja, dana atau bekerja mandiri. Salah satu kegiatan dari program ini yaitu membuka akses konseling yang berkualitas terkait dengan dunia kerja dan kewirausahaan bagi anak muda terutama bagi yang putus sekolah atau berada di luar sekolah dan melaksanakan mentoring bagi anak muda setelah mengikuti pelatihan konseling.

IMG_4045_1400x1050Pada tanggal 21-23 Mei 2019, IBU Foundation melaksanakan kegiatan pelatihan konselor sebaya dan pembuatan konten bagi anak muda. Konselor sebaya tersebut diharapkan dapat mendampingi ketika teman sebaya mengalami kendala dalam menghadapi dunia kerja maupun mengembangkan usaha melalui pertemuan langsung atau jarak jauh dengan telepon dan media sosial.

“Tiga hari sudah pelatihan mengenai konselor sebaya. Pelatihan berjalan dengan semangat anak muda. Dua hari pertama muda-mudi itu dibekali pengetahuan konseling, dengan harapan akan menularkan pengetahuan itu ke kawan di desanya, kawan sebayanya. Hari ketiga, pembekalan dan penyegaran mengenai media sosial. Mereka sudah familiar dengan tiga media sosial populer yakni Facebook, Instagram, dan Whatssapp. Sana sini berdiskusi tentang manfaat dari media sosial. Update status, curhat, berteman, mencari info, berkawan, dan lain sebagainya.” – Tito Panggabean, pelatih di kegiatan pelatihan konselor sebaya.


Skills to Succeed Projects for Out School Youth is a program supported by Yayasan Sayangi Tunas Cilik in improving the capacity and opportunities of disadvantaged youth and young people to have better-living conditions through working skills, employment opportunities, funding or self-employment. One of the activities of this program is to open access to quality counseling related to the employment and entrepreneurship for young people especially for those who drop out of school or are out of school and conduct mentoring for young people after participated in counseling training.

On 21-23 May 2019, IBU Foundation conducted peer counselor training and content creation in media social. The peer counselors are expected to be able to assist when peers experience obstacles in facing employments world and developing business through direct meetings or remotely by telephone and social media.

“It’s been done the three days of training on peer counselors. The training went on with the enthusiasm of young people. The first two days were provided with knowledge of counseling, in the hope of transmitting that knowledge to friends and peers in their villages. The third day, debriefing and refreshing on social media. They are familiar with three popular social media, namely Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp. Here and there, they discuss the benefits of social media, updating status, sharing, make friends, find information, be friends, and so on.” – Tito Panggabean, trainer in peer counselor training.
