The main objective of health and nutrition program is to provide access to quality community based health and nutrition services at the village level for mothers and children. Thus, we are focusing on the revitalization of “posyandu” in Indonesia and creating more community based programs that can contribute to reducing the Infant Mortality Rate (IMR) and Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR). Posyandu is an integrated post providing health information and delivery at the village level.
IBU continues to implement health and nutrition program, especially posyandu revitalization, and through this program we are continuing to reach more children to provide with basic health and nutrition services. However, as the sustainability of the posyandu services depends on the commitment of the government health workers as well the community itself, advocacy and community participation processes are thus endorsed by us and carried out in this program. IBU Foundation is committed to revitalizing the function of posyandu with an empowerment approach and community participation strategy.
