Dengue Campaign Socialization in Jakarta and Bekasi

Thursday, 08 October 2009 17:11

Socialization at Klender subdistrict - JakartaBekasi and East Jakarta were the first to conduct socialization, thus launch the program in subdistrict level. This socialization is the first step of our collaboration with the local citizen in fighting against dengue campaign. Our facilitator in Jakarta (Sri Hayati) and Bekasi (Yogie Ahmad) were working together to bring this event.

In Jakarta, the socialization was held on Friday, October 2nd. We were well prepared. All the material for the presentation and the equipment such as laptop, projectors, sound system has been set up. Then suddenly, the lectricity went off. We, then, had to think of alternative way for the presentation. It's not ideal, but we done it in the end. We met the head of PUSKESMAS fotr the first time and have a nice talk regarding the campaign. Result of the meeting was that we and the kaders agreed to hold another meeting to discuss the possibility of establishing CBO (community based organization).

Sozialization in Duren Jaya subdistrict - BekasiWhile at Bekasi, the enthusiasm was so great. In this occasion, we explain the reason of why that the Duren Jaya subdistrict was chosen to be our project area. Duren Jaya was chosen because of its high incidence of dengue cases. This was already anticipated by the participant. Aside of many kaders that attended the socialization, it also was attended by Lukmanul Hakim (Head of Duren Jaya Subdistrict), dr. Andi Nurvianti (Head of Puskesmas Duren Jaya), Rainah Hakim (Head of PKK Duren Jaya)
