Posyandu and Immunization Service Improvement in Meulaboh, Aceh

IBU Foundation through IBU Foundation Meulaboh Site Office has started to continue the Health and Nutrition Program in Woyla Sub-district, Aceh Barat District. IBU is concentrating to provide services to the community who live in rural/remote areas who had also affected by the tsunami and 30 years conflict.

This Project is focused to improve the condition of mother and child health through improving posyandu services and also immunization services in the posyandu, which is implemented regularly each month by the community and also health workers in the respective area. Posyandu services still emphasized on children growth monitoring and ante-natal care services. IBU also places more emphasized on Immunization for infants (under 1 years old) and pregnant women.

Posyandu Quality Service Improvement in Nias Island

IBU continue its previous contribution on improvement of health and nutrition for woman and children through improving quality of health services in Posyandu in Nias Island.

The Project Area is in Alasa Nias, the project area consists of 3 Sub District. Alasa is a high relief area with low infrastructure development; main roads are heavily damaged or inaccessible. Total population in Alasa is around 30,195 with 5,987 households. From this population, a data from DHO confirmed that approximately 20,000 (±4000 households) of them are classified as poor household (daily HH budget less than 2 dollars.
